A long Night full of wonderful Science #NDW2025
The long Night of Science took place on 25th October 2025, and CAMP and many of its members contributed with fascinating presentations and activities. For the first time, CAMP had its own booth at the IZNF, showcasing excerpts from our members’ research in the form of a video demonstrator in combination with a lively introduction from our Scientific Coordinator, Dr. Christian Wick, to our visitors. Our Scientific Coordinator enjoyed a wonderful night with inspiring discussions, thought-provoking questions, and highly positive feedback from all visitors. The CAMP booth was a popular stop for many visitors, who were given a general introduction to CAMP before continuing to visit the booths of our members and other attractions at the IZNF. In total, we welcomed over 2,250 visitors to the IZNF, a number that surpassed all previous LNDWs.
To promote CAMP and its activities, we offered free giveaways to all our visitors. These included pens with our logo and website link for taking notes, templates with CAMP buttons for the EAM button machine to create a memorable present, and Haribo with our LinkedIn QR code to follow us online and refill the sugar levels to have enough energy for all of the wonderful activities during the night of science.
CAMP partnered with the PULS group, whose booth was directly next to ours. Visitors could therefore directly dive into a subset of the fascinating research conducted at the molecular scale by enjoying molecular dynamics simulations in the VR world or watch a live simulation of cell movement in confinement. While this was definitely a positive match, also the location at the IZNF surrounded by the booths of our members Prof. Pelz, Prof. Engel and Prof. Pöschel, who offered many activities on site, including a digital hourglass, live molecular dynamics simulations and a combination of 3D scanning, data processing and laser cutting, where visitors could assemble their own wooden figure – a clear win-win situation.
Finally, the CAMP coordination wants to thank all our members for their wonderful and numerous contributions in Erlangen, Fürth and Nürnberg, our visitors for the inspiring discussions, and the local organisation team from the EAM for their outstanding support. With these positive impressions and wonderful feedback, we are looking forward to the next long night of science in two years! 🔬✨💻
